New Approaches to Old Challenges: Revealing Novel Disease Mechanisms and Therapeutic Targets with 3D Genomics
Monday, 13 June 2022 | 14:15 – 15:45
Room -2.32 + -2.33 | Level -2
Join us to learn:
- How 3D genomics provides access to sequence, structure, and regulatory landscapes of genomes in ways inaccessible via other technologies
- The utility of 3D genomics for understanding disease-associated variants in non-coding regions across a wide range of diseases, from cancer to autoimmune diseases
Meet the Speakers
Gisela Orozco, PhD
Centre of Excellence in Genetics and Genomics Versus Arthritis, University of ManchesterFrom Genetic Risk Variant Discovery to Functional Validation in Complex Diseases
Dr. Orozco will share her research using functional genomics to understand what biological mechanisms are altered by disease-associated variants from non-coding regions of the genome, with a focus on how 3D chromatin structure can be used to identify disease-causing genes in autoimmune disorders.
Djihad Hadjadj, PhD
University of Paris, Institute CochinUsing Hi-C to Annotate Non-Coding Mutations in Familial Midgut Carcinoid Tumors
Dr. Hadhad will share his research using Hi-C to annotate and prioritize non-coding candidate regions and variants identified by WGS in families affected by familial midgut carcinoid tumors, with the aim of validating non-coding candidate variants.
