Vineet Bafna, Ph.D., is a Professor of Computer Science and Engineering and the HDSI Chancellor’s Endowed Chair III at UC San Diego, known for pioneering research in cancer and population genomics. His work spans the discovery of complex cancer rearrangements and extrachromosomal DNA, co-founding Abterra Inc. and Boundless Bio, and authoring over 200 influential papers in top journals.
